Channi was confused as a year had passed and could not recognize the voice. When Channi answered the phone Feroz said " Hello. After a year Feroz Khan rang Channi Singh in England.
The next day a elated Channi Singh told Feroz Khan yes he would do the music. Feroz told Channi he would call the next day and he wanted either a yes or no. This was unexpected and was amazed a huge star like Feroz Khan wanted to work with him. Channi was shocked and his heart was racing. Feroz Khan told Channi he was making a film and wanted him to do the music.
The other songs took a few days to compose. He was reading the lyrics and Channi was listening to them over the phone ( Using a phone on the airplane was almost unheard of in 1991). Some of the compositions were made on the plane by Feroz and Channi Singh during Feroz's flight from Bombay to England.
He had dates for all the actors involved, including a very busy Sanjay Dutt. Dutta was shooting in Bikaner Rajasthan. The film was written by Aziz Qaisi who also wrote the lyrics along with Indeevar. A song was also recorded by Kalyanji Anandji on October 1986. The film was about a desperate mission of a group of commando's. Sonam had been screen tested for the film in early 1987.
The star cast was now Feroz Khan, Vinod Khanna (Replaced Jackie Shroff), Anil Kapoor, Madhuri Dixit,Anuradha Patel, Shakti Kapoor,Amjad Khan, Saeed Jaffery, Paresh Rawal. After Dayavan's shooting was complete, in June of 1988, Feroz Khan started Yalgaar once again. In the summer of 1987,Feroz Khan decided to shelve Yalgaar and direct Dayavan instead. Feroz described the film as film against disruptive and, corrupt forces and elements,which threaten to destroy the unity, integrity and stability of India.
Feroz Khan then decided to make Yalgaar with a totally different cast and script. Madhuri also decided she did not want to do Yalgaar after Dayavaan released. Anil Kapoor had left that film due to that issue. Anil was having problems with Vinod Khanna due to Sanjay Khan's in production "Sur Zameen".
At this, Sanjay explained to Feroz Khan that it was, in fact, impossible to set up the camera the way he (Feroz Khan) wanted as it was a desert they were shooting in. "When Sanjay asked Feroz Khan why he was so angry with the cameraman, Khan replied that he had asked him to set up a shot in a particular way but he (the cameraman) had replied back that he couldn"t do it. Sanjay Dutt immediately ran behind Feroz Khan and managed to stop him in his tracks even as the cameraman was running with the camera, for his life. A few unit members came running to him and pleaded him to stop Feroz Khan who was enraged and chasing the film"s cameraman S.M.

Panjabi MC song "Snake Charmer" sampled the song "Man Dole Mera Tan Dole". 1:41 and 4:28 in the song "Tere Chunni Pe Sitare" from Feroz Khan's Yalgaar. Other songs also sampled the song. Anwar was not a novice in the field as he had been the cameraman of stylishly shot films such as Shaan, Shakti and Saagar."The song "Twist" from Love Aaj Kal, sampled "Man Dole Mera Tan Dole" from Nagin (1954).
Fiji Indian singer Kaiindia song "1/5" from the album Straight From The Korro also sampled Nagin's song "Mann Dole Tan Dole". "Jaadugar Saiyan" by Sophie Chaudhary also samples the same song. "Naina Cho Sharaabi" song by Kaptan Ladi from his Album "Don of Bhangra" sampled the song " Man Dole Tan Dole".
The music of the song "Man Dole Mera Tan Dole" from Nagin, is in the title sequence of Rajnikanth's dubbed Hindi movie " Black Cobra". The album Star Crazy released in 1991.
